Biblical World View meets Reggio Emilia

Grace and Wonder Child Development Center strives for excellence as we help children excel in early development, which allows them to propel in future development. We incorporate and exceed the Nevada Early Childhood Education Standards.

Reggio Emilia views young children as individuals who are curious about their world, and have the powerful potential to learn from all that surrounds them. Our teachers expose children to a wide variety of educational opportunities that encourage self-expression, communication, logical thinking, and problem-solving.

Learning Through Nature

God gives us so much evidence of Himself through nature. If you spend any time with a child outdoors, they rejoice in every detail of nature; a wiggly worm, a pinecone found on the ground, or a bird’s beautiful song. Research has shown that the activities connected to the outdoors and nature encourages creativity and problem solving, boosts academic growth, and fosters curiosity and wonder. We have designed our outdoor space to include many elements that will spark curiosity and exploration of God’s beauty, including a mud kitchen, a small orchard, garden boxes, and plenty of room to move and play.

Inspired Play

Children are able to learn through touching, moving, listening, and observing. Our approach to play inspires curiosity and provokes thoughts, questions, and creativity. Children are self-led while exploring a wide variety of materials in cooperation with teachers who help them ask good questions.
